Hustle Dancing
upbeat, athletic, and fun...
|
Hustle is an upbeat, athletic dance with a distinct flavor, utilizing disco-style music & partnership styles patterned after the nightclub dancers of the 70s. It is primarily a stationary dance, with multiple turns and hand changes within patterns that have a ropey, elastic feel to them. In recent years, long sweeping armlines have become popular, particularly for the follower's part. Disco music is ideal for hustle, but dancers also enjoy dancing to contemporary pop & hip hop tunes. Traditional hustle music includes “Jive Talkin” by the Bee Gees, “Let The Music Play” by Barry White, and “Hot Stuff” by Donna Summer, while contemporary music includes “I'm Alive” by Celine Dion, "Taking Back My Heart" by Cher, and “The One” by the Backstreet Boys.
